Today we’re taking another look at the terrific city of Boca Raton. As you saw in my last recording Boca has one of the most beautiful beaches in South Florida this is Boca Raton Inlet which leads into Lake Boca Raton just beyond the bridge from there by boat you can travel the inland waterways which starts with the intercoastal and leads into many finger canals where you can see the beautiful single-family homes that line the waterways.
If you’re looking at Boca Raton real estate that has ocean access you’re looking at property that has a permanent bridge between it and the ocean so you’re normally restricted to boats between 25 to 30 feet in length as a maximum the white building on the other side of the inlet is the beach club at the Boca Raton Resort and club this building was just recently renovated and offers beachfront rooms and also rooms that look west over Lake Boca Raton the beach club coupled with the main resort on the other side of the Intracoastal makes great options for the vacation.
The Boca Raton Resort and club is a new addition to the Waldorf Astoria collection of hotels at the hotel and beach club there’s never a shortage of things to do you have water sports you have deep-sea fishing jet skiing you can rent sea ray boats and if you like to play golf a of a beautiful Golf Course they also have 30 tennis courts and they have a world-class spa down beyond the flowers is the original hotel which was built in the 1920s and then in the 1960s they built this beautiful Tower which overlooks the intercoastal in the ocean you can quickly get a look here at some Boca Raton real estate as we go west on Camino Real Boulevard if you’re ever shopping for Boca Raton real estate be sure to call us at Boca real estate errs we are one of Bocas oldest independent real estate firms or look us up on the web at Boca real estate or calm look for us again on our next video thank you.
Hi welcome back to Escapades with Emma. I am Emma, as you have been able to gathered and today we’re going to talk about the Top 5 Things to do in Palm Beach County Florida. So, my parents are snowbirds and their location of preference for the winters lately has been Ocean Ridge. So, for the last three years I’ve been inspecting Palm Beach County Florida, um, once a year. I’m going to share with you my top 5 things to do! So,# 1 is the coast. Palm Beach is of course referred for the beautiful palm rowed seas but palm trees are not actually native to the United States. A Spanish send carrying a merchandise of coconuts shipwrecked near Mar-a-lago in 1878. And when the coconuts rinsed ashore the latter are embed and flourished, generating the sphere its call. Regrettably, while we were there high winds and rip-tide advice stopped us from experiencing the coast ,…. so we enjoyed the kitty instead. >> The sea is freezing if “its not” 90, 88 stage F. They keep the reserve so heated its almost like a bath, heated enough even for nighttime period swims.
>> Hello there!# 2( singing) Browse! So, I love to go shopping in this area. There is TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, there’s tons of outlet stores, but the best by far is Nordstrom’s the Rack in Boca Raton. But, seeing as I haven’t frayed every segment of garment that I bought there LAST year, I judged this year to go to the markets in Delray Beach instead. >> Here we are in Delray Beach, Veteran’s Park, um for the weekly art appearance on Saturdays. You can see it is quite the situation, there’s lots of artwork on display a great deal of really talented masters …. >> After taking in the artistry testify you can walk along the famous Atlantic Avenue to the outdoor marketplace at Pineapple Grove.
>> We’re walking along Atlantic Avenue, where there’s lots of actually swanky supermarkets. Genuinely interesting places to patronize if you have a thick-witted pocketbook and um, apparently there’s so many restaurants along now that mostly you could live in Delray for an entire month, go to a different eatery everyday, and still not get to all of them. >> So, behind me is Johnny Brown’s, next to the set moves here. And when the develop come into for about 2 minutes the government had 1/2 priced hits. >> Just off Atlantic Avenue is Pineapple Grove, the skill quarter in downtown Delray Beach. This is where the winter green sell is held on Saturdays from 9am- 2pm in Old School Square Park.
It has everything from fresh regional grow, meat and fish, to artisan baked goods. It is even pet friendly! …. >> So what’s this? >> This is a Gumbo Limbo Tree. A gumbo limbo tree is sometimes called a sightseer tree because the skin on the tree is reddish like a sunburn and the surface rind off like the sightseers when they get a sunburn >> like me specifically! >> In my hour in the sunlight on a cloudy daytime …. this is what happened. I’M A GUMBO LIMBO TREE. and I reek like vinegar. Oh yeah! Good gratuity: get all the heat out with freezing drapes and then season yourself with a little white vinegar to take out the stinging. It doesn’t take it all away but it helps. >># 3 The intracoastal waterway, or to trounce around the bush a little less I’ll time announce this straight up what it is: House appearing. I don’t know….Peeping? Is that a … It performs it sound creepier to me, I don’t know … But you’re going to look at some ridiculous houses, basically.
Like, “theres” beings buying these homes, billion dollars mansions, and time slapping them down so they can develop something that they require there instead. It is absolutely Looney Tunes. In lineup to get a better idea of this we decided to make the 2 hour sightseeing sail from Delray Beach towards Boca Raton. >> For about the first hour of the sail you get a narration talking about the history of the area, some chatter, and sometimes even who bought which house and how much they paid for it. On the way back, you precisely get to enjoy the belief. You can get liquors and food on board, and they are not that expensive, and the service is fantastic.
>># 4 is the Flagler Museum. Now, I saved this one for a rainy day, unfortunately that too happened to be a weekend. >> We’re driving north on the A1A, um, to go to the Flagler museum in Palm Beach. But, seeing as it’s the weekend and Donald Trump is at Mar-a-Lago we’re probably going to have to take the long way around because insurance kind of barriers a section of the road between now and Palm Beach for security purposes.
But, you can see along the A1A there are some beautiful mansions. >> That’s right, more houses to look at. If you don’t feel like going on a sail of the intracoastal waterway then simply driving along the A1A really does envelop my# 3 nicely. >> Just a little experience. >> Hey pa ……. How joyous are you right now? This is the second bridge we’ve arrived at where the drawbridge went up. We were at the one at Lantana at 1:30 pm, and then had to go further down the roadway and over into Palm Beach in order to bridge back over the connection here , now up, to get to the Flagler museum. Um …. Thanks Donald J. Trump. This would then be like a 20 minute drive up the A1A otherwise . ……… Yup ……. >> But it was well worth the postponement. >> Whitehall was built as a winter home for Henry Flagler in 1902 and given to his third wife as a nuptial gift.
After they both passed away it was left to her niece and eventually sold to property developers who computed a 10 tale inn addition. The structure was saved from being torn down by Flagler’s granddaughter in 1959 and the addition was annihilated, and the building restored to its Gilded Age glory, and turned into a museum. >> Regrettably, I couldn’t use the footage from within of Whitehall but it is beautiful and, trust me, worth the visit.
Henry Flagler was a fascinating adult who was a co-founder, along with John D. Rockefeller of Standard OIl. In his later years he started to develop hotels in southern of Florida and facilitated develop the transportation system, namely the rail in the field, to aid bring tourists down. So he bought the railways along the eastern coast of Florida, standardised the tracks and expanded them south creating what is still known as the Florida East Coastal Railway, which kick started the development of the orbit. He even improved the Overseas Railroad all the way to Key West. Although it was known as Flagler’s Folly, it was completed in 1912 and Flagler formed the maiden voyage in his private sleeper car that you can still visit in the Pavilion behind Whitehall.
Flagler vanished the year after at the age of 83 after falling down the stairs at Whitehall. He didn’t live to see the Overseas Railroad, which was considered the 8th speculate of the world at the time, destroyed during typhoon in 1935. Fortunately, the Flagler Museum, or Whitehall, continues his gift as the father of Palm Beach and Miami Beach, alive and well. >># 5… Enjoy a little nature. We selected the Gumbo Limbo Nature Park, or Gumbo limbo sort Centre?( singing) Gumbo Limbo, Gumbo Limbo ,…. the Gumbo …… ze Limbo … okay ……… … This is all in Spanish. >> Now we are in Boca Raton at the Gumbo Limbo Nature Centre where they rescue and rehabilitate sea turtles. Let’s Go! >> This turtle we announce Blitzen because he came in on Christmas eve. A guy was glancing out his window in Jupiter in his oceanfront condo, saw something he believed that it was garbage, so he ogled through his telescope construed it was a turtle grabbed his surfboard, exited running out there and pushed sea turtles in to security on the beach. >> He hadn’t eaten for 4 or 5 months, because when you have a internal infection, which he has a blood infection, it compels internal gas.
So, you can’t swim after fish to feed yourself, so you live off your own torso fatten. You can’t get out of the sunbathe, so a lot of things grow on you. He’d been hit in the president by a dampen instrument, perhaps a billow smuggler. Blitzen’s about 20 years old, so he’s a sub-adult. He’s not an adult until they’re 25 years old. >> Somehow turtles have a special GPS, they call it the magnetized footprint, but, turtles travel around the Atlantic Ocean and by the time they gyrate 25 and wishes to mate they somehow know where they were incubated at. So, they’ll am coming to Florida, they wander the Atlantic on the gulf stream, which is a current of heated ocean that goes all around the Atlantic up to Europe, down to Africa, back to Florida and whenever they are 25 ish theyll go back to where they were hatched teammate with a bunch of various types of males, and during that season, that time, they’ll have 6 or 7 clutches of eggs. >> If we didn’t let the little turtles stroll on the sand to get to the Ocean they would not have that magnetized footprint.
It’s kind of like salmon, that “re going to have to” spawn up the river. >> Thank you so much for watching, if you enjoyed please give it a thumbs up, and satisfy subscribe for more content like this by clicking this join or the button below ..
